Ground Forces Communications and Electronics Technician

You become the top technical authority for classified systems and networks from brigade level up to the General Staff, linking your unit's needs to the technical and operational bodies above it. You build and run data-communication networks, command-and-control systems, various radios, and maintain advanced digital systems in vehicles, headquarters and labs — the go-to person for solving both networking and operational-system faults, whatever the difficulty. No prior technical knowledge is required to start.

Minimum profile 45, requires passing a security clearance. Open to both men and women; no prior professional knowledge needed.

About 12 weeks at the National School for Communications and Cyber Defense (Bahad 7) at Camp Ariel Sharon: networking, communication components, operational applications and various encryption equipment, with heavy emphasis on practical fault-finding.

In communications and technology units, from brigade level up to the General Staff.

You leave with extensive knowledge of networking, transmission and system deployment, deep familiarity with civilian companies' active and passive equipment, and skills in operating, upgrading and troubleshooting digital systems.
