What you would be doing
You train as an electronics technician (with an emphasis on communications) while already in the army — a year and a half at college, 80% funded by the Intelligence Corps. When you finish, you're guaranteed a key technical role in one of the corps' technology units. Along the way you also pick up civilian certifications (JohnBryce, HP, Microsoft) and military courses (NET, Linux, PowerShell), and you graduate with an official electronics-technician diploma from the Ministry of Education.
What it takes to get in
Profile 25 and above, Dapar 50 and above, graduate of the science track, 4 study units of English and math, a full matriculation certificate. Requires signing on for a year and a half of career service.
Training
A year and a half: 13th-14th grade studies at ORT Harmelin College (Netanya) toward an electronics-technician diploma, then a further course at the Intelligence Corps training base and posting to one of the corps' tech units.
Where you serve
Open and closed Aman bases around the country.
What it is worth afterwards
You come out with an electronics-technician diploma and experience with NET, Linux and PowerShell — a ready-made high-tech profession.
