Police Conscript Service (Shacham)

You're placed in one of the branches the Israel Police runs — patrolling in a squad car, responding to citizen distress calls, and fighting crime. If you're a good fit, you can move into a forensic identification lab, collecting and scientifically analyzing evidence from crime scenes, or into the police's intelligence branch, gathering criminal information from a range of sources. Other soldiers here staff the emergency call center, handling distress calls and passing them to forces on the ground.

Profile 45 and above. Yom Ha-MEA: Interpersonal skills 3+, Management and organization 2+, Command 3+, Structure and discipline 3+.

Tironut 02 plus about 4 months of a basic police course. Candidates headed for the administrative track do an extra 3 weeks plus tailored professional training. Candidates headed for the emergency call center do a roughly 2-month course.

The policing experience, including forensics and handling citizen calls, transfers well to civilian careers.
