What you would be doing
You track down classified intelligence about the enemy along the northern border and the Gaza Strip, working the same system used elsewhere in the corps but with a different mission. You study the enemy in depth, as well as the classified intelligence systems you'll operate. You serve in one of three collection battalions: Ayit 595 on the Syrian border, Shachaf 869 on the Lebanese border, or Nesher 414 in the Gaza Strip.
What it takes to get in
Profile 64 and above; Yom Ha-MEA scores — information processing 4, management and organization 3, sustained attention 3. Passing a security clearance is required, including before enlistment.
Training
Basic training 02, then training at the border-defense school (Magen Sayarim camp) for 3 months.
Where you serve
One of three collection battalions: Ayit 595 (Syrian border), Shachaf 869 (Lebanese border), Nesher 414 (Gaza Strip).
