Biochemistry combines biology and chemistry, especially molecular biology and organic chemistry. Biochemistry plays a central and important role in understanding the mechanisms of disease, developing medicines, agricultural advances, and the food industry. The studies combine theoretical knowledge with hands-on laboratory experience.
