Intake for the 2026/27 academic year
You can be admitted through one of these tracks:
Regular track
Threshold requirements: psychometric exam and bagrut(our wording)
- 550 (the higher of the general multi-domain psychometric score or the quantitative reasoning psychometric score)
- 85 in the English component of the psychometric exam or Amirnet exam
- An applicant who takes the psychometric exam in a language other than Hebrew and whose bagrut certificate is from an institution where the language of instruction is not Hebrew is required to have a score of at least 100 on the Yael exam.
- Bagrut cutoff scores (weighted bagrut average, without bonus points)Bagrut average – 70
- Mathematics – a grade of 80 at 4 units or 70 at 5 units (alternatively, a grade of 80 in the College’s pre-engineering mechina)
- English – a grade of 70 at 4 units or 60 at 5 units
- An additional advanced-level subject besides mathematics and English – a grade of 60
By bagrut, no psychometric exam
Admission route without a psychometric exam (optimal bagrut average)(our wording)
- Bagrut average (best, including bonus points) – 90
- Mathematics – a grade of 85 at 4 units or 70 at 5 units; alternatively, a grade of 85 in the College’s pre-engineering mechina
- English – a grade of 75 at 4 units or 65 at 5 units
- An additional advanced-level subject beyond mathematics and English – grade 65
- An applicant whose bagrut certificate is from an institution where the language of instruction is not Hebrew is required to have a score of at least 105 on the Yael exam or Yaelnet exam.
- English placement test (Amirnet exam), score of 85
- These admission tracks are not intended for applicants in the Academic Reserve program. These admission tracks require meeting all registration requirements. Applicants whose scores fall short of the requirements cannot be admitted.
- To calculate the best possible bagrut average, add 12.5 points to a science subject at the 4-unit level and 25 points to a science subject at the 5-unit level.

What you study
Biotechnology engineering deals with the use and harnessing of life processes in biological systems to produce products for industry, medicine, agriculture, and cosmetics for human well-being. These include innovative medical treatments, the development of biosensors, controlled drug release, the use of engineered DNA codes, the generation of alternative energy, and the production of meat and dairy substitutes, among others. Courses in the degree include foundational studies such as mathematics, physics, statistics, biology, and chemistry, as well as advanced courses, including genetic engineering, microbiology, immunology, cell cultures, and ethics and law in biotechnology.
