What you study

With a bachelor's degree in Classical Studies, you can continue to advanced degrees (in Classical Studies or related fields, such as history, philosophy, archaeology, and art history), or you can start working right away.

Classical studies explore the Greek and Roman worlds in all their aspects: languages, culture, literature, history, and thought, alongside a variety of research fields and scientific methodologies. At different institutions, students can choose a specialization in language or culture: Greek language and literature, Roman language and literature, or Greek and Roman culture. Courses in the degree include ancient Greek in its main dialects; Roman language (Latin); Greek and Roman literature, both in the original languages and in translation; the history and historiography of Greece and Rome; ancient philosophy; the mythology of Greece and Rome; and the art and culture of Greece, Rome, and the Land of Israel, from the pre-Classical period through late antiquity, and more.
