What you study

The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering is a multi-domain program that provides an in-depth introduction to all the components of communications networks and systems, in terms of software, hardware, and technologies.

Communication systems engineering deals with how data is transmitted between different components, from communication between individual components (such as communication between a mobile phone and a base station) to large communication systems networks. Students receive training in systems design and management, network performance analysis, optimization, and more. Courses in the degree include mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, and industrial engineering and management, as well as specialized courses in communication systems and networks, such as computer communication networks, embedded systems, advanced protocols, distributed algorithms, information theory, operating systems, network programming, and more.
