Admission requirements
You can be admitted through one of these tracks:
By bagrut, no psychometric exam
Quality bagrut (exemption from the psychometric exam)(our wording)
- Applicants with a quality bagrut certificate with a grade of at least 85 and an advanced-level subject at 5 units are exempt from the psychometric exam
Regular track
Bagrut and psychometric exam(our wording)
- Applicants without a quality bagrut are required to take the psychometric exam (suitability score: 50% bagrut, 50% psychometric exam)
Special track
Up to 10% exceptional admissions
- The College will allow the admission of up to 10% of applicants through review of exceptional cases if they do not meet the required admission requirements but have other special personal qualities, such as extensive experience in instruction and/or volunteer work in education, exceptional achievements supported by letters of recommendation, relevant higher education in non-academic settings, and an impressive record of overcoming a weak socioeconomic and cultural background. Every applicant with exceptional admission credentials will undergo an admission interview and be admitted on condition of meeting requirements at the end of the first year.
For adults and those who have studied before1
Practical-engineer diploma holders
- Holders of a practical engineer diploma issued by the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Economy and Industry (MAHAT) will be considered to have a certificate equivalent to a bagrut certificate for the purpose of registering for academic studies. Their final grade will be considered a bagrut average.
These are minimum requirements: meeting them does not by itself guarantee admission.
The requirements are in the institution's words. Names and labels marked "our wording" are our own, written from the same page.
For every track
- Each applicant will have a personal interview
- Entrance exams/home exams
- Applicants admitted on the basis of a high school graduation certificate in a foreign language (from Israel or abroad) will have to take a Hebrew placement test (Yael exam) before beginning their studies. The minimum score required for admission on the Yael exam is 110 or higher. Applicants who score 80–109 will have to take a Hebrew mechina during the first semester of their studies.
- Applicants with a foreign high-school diploma must obtain an equivalency approval from the Ministry of Education and score at least 540 on the psychometric exam
- Applicants with an Arabic-language bagrut certificate must present a grade of 80 or higher in the Hebrew language bagrut exam at the 5-unit level (Hebrew exam for the non-Jewish sector).
