What you study

Offers a unique program that combines certification as a paramedic with an undergraduate degree. A broad academic education enables paramedics to perform better and bear the weight of the responsibility placed on them.

Paramedics work in emergency medicine and are authorized to perform many procedures that only they and doctors may perform, such as all stages of resuscitation, administering medication intravenously, inserting a pacemaker, and more. A degree in emergency medicine combines paramedic certification with a bachelor's degree. The program provides knowledge in delivering initial emergency care to people with urgent medical conditions. The curriculum includes courses in natural sciences, basic medical sciences, social sciences, and clinical courses, as well as courses specific to the degree, such as first aid, communication and interviewing, the pathophysiology of trauma, and emergencies involving childbirth, pediatrics, internal medicine, orthopedics, cardiology, geriatrics, and psychiatry, as well as clinical experience in hospitals.
