Admission requirements
Intake for the 2026/27 academic year
These requirements are incomplete — the full list is on the institution's site
You can be admitted through one of these tracks:
Special track
Deserving advancement (affirmative-action category based on socio-economic criteria)
- This track admits applicants defined as “deserving advancement” according to criteria based on the rules of the Association for the Advancement of Education
- Present the score received from the Association for the Advancement of Education. The score will be added to the applicant’s educational background.
- Some departments require additional threshold requirements, such as interviews, an admissions committee, a certain level of English, etc. Applicants registered through this track must also meet them
- The Academic College of Emek Yezreel does not guarantee admission to all applicants recognized as deserving advancement who have the qualifications detailed above. The applicants with the strongest qualifications within the “deserving advancement” category will be admitted.
Special track
Exceptional admission
- The departmental admissions committee will consider and decide whether to admit or reject applicants in exceptional cases (who do not meet the regular admission requirements) in the following cases: • When there is a gap between the applicant’s psychometric score and the psychometric score required by the department. • When there is a gap between the applicant’s weighted average score and the weighted average score (weighted average score) required by the department. • Applicants seeking an exemption from the psychometric exam based on at least 5 academic courses related to the curriculum in the department they are applying to (the Department of Economics and Management requires at least 3 related academic courses) and the average required by the department. • When there is a gap between other applicant data and other admission requirements as determined by the department chair.
- Each department has a quota for exceptional admission, set by the Council for Higher Education [CHE], of up to 10% of the applicants admitted to the department.
- A status granted to a student who does not meet one of the college’s admission requirements and was admitted exceptionally, on condition that they complete the missing requirement and/or an equivalent requirement. Admission with this status requires approval by the departmental admissions committee.
These are minimum requirements: meeting them does not by itself guarantee admission.
For every track
- A score of at least 85 in English on the psychometric exam and/or the Amir exam (English screening exam).
- A score of at least 100 on the Hebrew proficiency test (Yael exam) is required for anyone who took the psychometric exam in a language other than Hebrew and/or studied at a high school where the language of instruction is not Hebrew.
- Admission requirements for the double major format will be determined according to the higher admission requirements of the 2 departments.
- A full bagrut certificate from the Ministry of Education or an equivalent certificate (pre-academic mechina, foreign high-school diploma / practical engineer certificate / certificate of graduation from a recognized institution in Israel or abroad, etc.).
