Admission through the transfer pathway from The Open University of Israel
- Admission without a psychometric exam is possible through the Open University of Israel transfer tracks
- The shaded courses must be completed at the Open University of Israel. Taking additional courses from the equivalency table is optional. Students must earn a grade of 70 or higher in each course taken from the equivalency table, and achieve an overall average grade of 90 or higher.
- Students who complete their studies with the required minimum grades (listed below) will be eligible for admission to the second year of the Special Education department at the University of Haifa. They will need to complete the introductory courses Introduction to the Philosophy of Education, Introduction to Educational Counseling, Introduction to Learning Environments, Teaching and Instruction, and Introduction to Learning, which are taught in the department in the first year and are not offered by the Open University.
- Admission to the requested department in the Faculty of Education at the University of Haifa is guaranteed to anyone who meets all the requirements of the relevant course cluster, with no additional admission requirements.
- A student who successfully completes these courses with an average grade of 80 or higher but lower than 90 may submit an application to the department's admissions committee.
- The programs in the Education departments are double-major programs. Therefore, applicants must register for a bachelor's degree in an additional department at the University and meet the university-wide and department-specific admission requirements of the second department, whether these are the department's regular admission requirements or the requirements for transferring to an additional department with which the Open University has a transfer pathway agreement.
- All students in the Faculty, except those exempt from English studies at the University of Haifa based on an English placement test or on previous studies at a recognized academic institution, must complete Advanced 2 level in English.
- Applicants whose high school language of instruction was not Hebrew and/or who did not take the psychometric exam in Hebrew must receive a score on the Yael exam (Hebrew proficiency test).
These are minimum requirements: meeting them does not by itself guarantee admission.
The requirements are in the institution's words. Names and labels marked "our wording" are our own, written from the same page.
