What you study
An engineering subfield of Civil Engineering that combines knowledge of environmental engineering and environmental quality with knowledge of regional and urban planning. Topics covered in the degree include the engineering design and construction of water infrastructure such as pools and reservoirs, pumps, dams, water transport pipes and pressure-monitoring devices, ports, water desalination facilities, fire-fighting facilities, and more. The study program includes core courses in mathematics, physics, and engineering, followed by specialized courses, including water and wastewater conveyance systems, irrigation and drainage engineering, water and wastewater treatment, membrane processes for improving reclaimed water and desalination, instrumentation and control of water and wastewater systems, and more.
