What you would be doing

You take part in the IDF's most advanced ground-forces training and help keep fighters combat-ready. There are two tracks here: operating the Combat Hammer, a two-sided training vehicle that simulates an armored fighting vehicle in day and night exercises up to division scale, or working as an OPFOR operator — playing the enemy in exercises to give training forces a real challenge. Both call for toughness, professionalism, and taking personal responsibility for the exercise.

What it takes to get in

Combat Hammer operator: profile 72 and above, Dapar 40 and above, a category-B driver's license. Yom Ha-MEA (women only): Technical operation 3+, Command 2+, Structure and discipline 2+. OPFOR operator: profile 72 and above, Dapar 40 and above. Yom Ha-MEA (women only): Technical operation 3+, Command 2+, Structure and discipline 2+.

Training

Combat Hammer operator: tironut 02 plus about three months of training. OPFOR operator: tironut 03 plus about two and a half months of training.

Where you serve

Unit headquarters at the Tze'elim base; exercises take place across every sector of the country.
