What you would be doing

You work in preventive dentistry — educating patients on dental health and carrying out professional treatments like prepping for gum surgery, removing stitches, removing tartar and cleaning teeth. Dental hygiene studies are recognized by the Ministry of Health, and you finish with a diploma and a professional license.

What it takes to get in

Profile 64 and above. Yom Ha-MEA scores (female candidates only): human relations 3 and above. Regular mandatory service is two years, plus a one-year keva commitment in exchange for the army funding your studies.

Training

Tironut 02, then two academic years at the dental hygiene school at Tel Aviv University or in Jerusalem.

Where you serve

One of the IDF's dental clinics.

What it is worth afterwards

A Ministry of Health-recognized diploma and professional license in dental hygiene.
