What you would be doing
You take full care of the unit's dogs — feeding them, taking them to training, walking them, and working early mornings and nights when needed. Prior background and experience with dogs helps; you need patience and a genuine love of animals, especially dogs. You'll be on a closed base (Matan Adam facility) and on duty with the dogs even on Saturdays.
Training
General IDF basic training 02 with guidance toward this trade, plus a 12-day course at Oketz unit. The course teaches the skills and tools for handling all the unit's dogs and is the foundation for becoming a dog handler and trainer.
