What you would be doing

You help guard the General Staff base (the Kirya) — home to the Chief of Staff, the defense minister and the prime minister, and a top target for terrorists and foreign intelligence. You check IDs at the gates and patrol the site, and the course's top graduates join the Puma team, which protects the country's leaders at ceremonies.

What it takes to get in

Profile 64 and above.

Training

Tironut 02, then a security-screening course of about 3 weeks — screening, handling explosive hazards, document checks, hand-to-hand combat and fitness training. Top graduates go on to an advanced security course with a civilian certification.

At the General Staff base (the Kirya).

What it is worth afterwards

A civilian security certificate recognized by the Israel Police — opens doors to jobs at Ben Gurion Airport, Israel Railways, the defense ministry and elsewhere.
