Admission requirements
Intake for the 2026/27 academic year
You can be admitted through one of these tracks:
Regular track
Combined score
- Minimum requirements: psychometric exam score of at least 550 and bagrut average of at least 70 (without bonus points).
- Conditional admission for one year—completion of the entire first year with a cumulative average of at least 70, with no failing grades.
Special track
Review of exceptional cases
- The departmental admission requirements take all science and mathematics subjects in the bagrut into account. Therefore, applicants with strong aptitude for science and mathematics in the bagrut and psychometric exam who do not meet the admission requirements will be referred for a review of exceptional cases.
These are minimum requirements: meeting them does not by itself guarantee admission.
For every track
- An English level placement of at least 85 on the NITE level placement test is a required condition for admission.
- Mathematics4 units with a grade of at least 80; 5 units with a grade of at least 70. A grade below the required level requires a mathematics completion mechina and completion of it with a grade of at least 70 before starting studies.
- English4 units with a grade of at least 70. 5 units with a grade of at least 65. A grade below the required grade requires a supplementary English mechina.
- A Yael exam score of at least 115 is required for applicants who completed high school where the language of instruction was not Hebrew, and/or who took the psychometric exam in a language other than Hebrew.
- Physics and ChemistryPhysics and chemistry: 5 units with a grade of at least 70. Lack of a physics and chemistry bagrut or a grade below 70 requires a physics and chemistry completion mechina before starting studies or introductory courses in the first year, to be taken during the first semester of studies.
- Eligibility for a bagrut certificate and English at 4 units with a passing grade are essential admission requirements

What you study
Chemical engineering deals with the industrial production and extraction of chemicals and uses the principles of chemistry, physics, mathematics, and economics for the use, production, and conversion of chemicals, materials, and energy. Chemical engineering also deals with the transition from developing processes on a small scale in the laboratory, through setting up pilot plants for initial production, to operating huge industrial plants. Topics studied in the degree include core subjects in mathematics, chemistry, and physics, as well as chemical engineering subjects, including thermodynamics, chemical reactor design, process control, process optimization, organic chemistry and polymers, inorganic chemistry, corrosion and protection methods, analytical mechanics, and more.
