What you study
Civil engineering deals with the design and construction of structures and systems, including residential buildings, industrial buildings, roads, ports, bridges, infrastructure, and more. Alongside theoretical studies, the degree also includes practical experience. During their studies, students can choose a specialization, such as structural engineering, transportation engineering, mapping and geo-information engineering, or environmental, water, and soil engineering. Courses in the degree include mathematics, physics, chemistry, programming, mechanics, materials engineering, and courses related to the specialization, such as construction management, structural design, geotechnics, geodesy, fluid mechanics, hydrology, environmental control, transportation, and systems analysis.
