What you study

Dentistry is a medical-surgical field concerned with the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases or injuries affecting the teeth, jaws and oral cavity.

The first 3 years of dental studies, at the end of which students can receive a bachelor's degree, include preclinical studies and take place mostly at the School of Dentistry. The rest of the program focuses on clinical, theoretical, and practical studies in teaching clinics and in oral and maxillofacial clinics at hospitals. The bachelor's degree studies include foundational courses in mathematics, physics, chemistry, statistics, and computer science, as well as introductory courses in life sciences and medical sciences (biology, anatomy, physiology, genetics, biochemistry, pathology, immunology, microbiology, and more), with particular attention to dental aspects.
