What you study

The aim of the department of occupational therapy is to enable people to participate, be involved, and achieve optimal functioning in occupations that are meaningful to them, at every age and in every health condition, as well as to promote environmental and social environmental changes that will enable accessibility and equality for different people in all areas of life.

Occupational therapy studies cover topics in medical sciences and the social and behavioral sciences. They prepare students to help people whose daily functioning is impaired and to support them in achieving the best possible daily routine. These impairments may result from developmental delays, emotional or physical problems, trauma, illness, or old age. The curriculum includes theoretical courses in medicine and behavioral sciences, as well as various practical training placements and specializations. The program prepares students to work in 4 main areas: developmental occupational therapy (child development), physical occupational therapy (for people who have experienced a physical injury), geriatric occupational therapy, and occupational therapy in mental health.
