What you study

This program is suited to people seeking a profession with a sense of purpose, depth, and a holistic view of people in the context of their lives. The studies provide in-depth knowledge that makes it possible to understand each patient’s personal, social, and cultural story, connecting their physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities with the environment in which they function.

Occupational therapy studies cover topics in medical sciences and the social and behavioral sciences. They prepare students to help people whose daily functioning is impaired and to support them in achieving the best possible daily routine. These impairments may result from developmental delays, emotional or physical problems, trauma, illness, or old age. The curriculum includes theoretical courses in medicine and behavioral sciences, as well as various practical training placements and specializations. The program prepares students to work in 4 main areas: developmental occupational therapy (child development), physical occupational therapy (for people who have experienced a physical injury), geriatric occupational therapy, and occupational therapy in mental health.
