What you study
The Department of Statistics is considered one of the most diverse and innovative departments in Israel. Students learn how to collect data, process it, and draw conclusions from it. Studying in the department will take you beyond the median, range, and standard deviation to the hidden logic behind life.
Statistics focuses on 2 main areas: collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting quantitative data, and developing models for forecasting, drawing conclusions, and making decisions under complex conditions of uncertainty. Studies generally focus on probability, various methods of data analysis, and optimization methods—operations research. The curriculum includes courses that provide both theoretical knowledge and practical tools. Courses include mathematics, computer science, probability, statistical analysis and inference, statistical models, and operations research.
