What you would be doing
You patrol and guard Israel's borders together with men and women in the same unit — ambushes, chases, observation and protecting communities. Your job is to prevent hostile terrorist activity and fight serious crime along the border.
What it takes to get in
Profile 72 and above for men and women, BMI 17–35. Women must pass the combat-women selection and commit to mandatory service equal in length to men's.
Training
Tironut 05, about 4 months, at the border-defense school; then 2.5 months of advanced training in the operational sectors, reaching rifleman level 06.
Where you serve
In one of five border-infantry battalions: Caracal and Bardelas (Paran Brigade), Jordan Lions and Bika Lion (Bika Brigade), Panther (Ephraim Brigade).
