What you would be doing

You get certified on systems that are both electronic and optical — the IDF's navigation systems, thermal gear like night-vision devices, laser systems and other complex kit maintained by the Technology and Maintenance Corps' electro-optics technicians. Day to day you solder, inspect and repair electro-optical devices and electrical circuits, and measure them with test equipment. After a two-and-a-half-week course you're posted to the electro-optics plant or one of the corps' centers.
