What you would be doing
As an emergency instructor you teach civilians how to protect themselves during emergencies and help the population cope when one happens. Most of your teaching happens in elementary schools (grades 1–6) and at essential workplaces like government offices that keep operating during emergencies — building people's sense of self-reliance and resilience, and helping them prepare their home and family in advance.
What it takes to get in
Profile 25 and above. Yom Ha-MEA scores: instruction 3+, working with people 2+, maturity 3+, discipline 3+.
Training
Rifleman tironut 02, three weeks, at the Home Front Command and Command Professions School in Ramla (Rechavam base), followed by an emergency-instructors course of about three months in closed format at the same training base.
Where you serve
In Home Front Command districts around the country (North, South, Jerusalem, Dan, Haifa).
What it is worth afterwards
Real experience speaking in front of an audience and instructing.
