What you would be doing
You're an infantry fighter in the Givati Brigade. Tironut (4 months) certifies you as an advanced rifleman, and advanced training (another 4 months) brings you to full rifleman level before you join one of the brigade's battalions. Recon-company (sayeret) soldiers continue about six more months of extra training. Day to day, the brigade operates along Israel's borders, mostly in the south and near the Gaza Strip.

Profile 82 and above.
Training
30 weeks total: tironut and advanced training. Recon-company (sayeret) soldiers add about another six months.
Where you serve
In one of the brigade's three battalions — Shaked (424), Tzabar (432), Rotem (435) — or in the recon company (846), mostly in the south and along the Gaza Strip border.
