What you would be doing
You answer calls to the Home Front Command's national hotline, 104, giving people life-saving instructions during rocket fire, earthquakes, fires and hazardous-material incidents. In routine times you help people prepare their homes and families for emergencies, run briefings, and answer questions about shelters and safe rooms. The line runs 24/7, including holidays and Yom Kippur.
What it takes to get in
Profile 45 and above. For women — Yom Ha-MEA: management and organization 3 and above, information processing 3 and above.
Training
Tironut 02 and a three-week course in the unit, covering the history of the Home Front Command, the structure of its population department, and the various systems used.
Where you serve
At Camp Rehavam, Home Front Command, Ramle. Service is one week on, one week off (Wednesday to Wednesday).
