What you would be doing
You interpret simultaneously between Hebrew and Arabic right in the military courtroom — between judges, prosecutors and military police on one side, and defense lawyers, witnesses, detainees and their families on the other. You also help organize the court sessions themselves. You need a genuinely high level of both Arabic and English.
What it takes to get in
Profile 45 and above, a high level of English and Arabic. (Yom Ha-MEA scores for women: management and organization 2+, information processing 2+, sustained attention 3+.)
Training
Basic training 02, then internal training in the unit.
Where you serve
Ofer Camp near Jerusalem and Salem Camp near the Megiddo junction.
What it is worth afterwards
Translation skills carry over into civilian life.
