Naval Technological Reserve Track

You spend two years training as an engineer — electronics, mechanical engineering, mechatronics or electrical engineering — at a college that partners with the Naval Arm, which funds 80% of the tuition. After the diploma you enlist straight into a technical core role: if you're fit for combat, you serve as a combatant in one of the navy's technological warfare roles aboard ship; if not, or if you're a woman, you go into the "shore tech" unit that maintains and develops the vessels' systems. Women who want the combat-technological path can qualify for it by passing the naval combat gibush.

Medical profile 64 and above, Dapar 40 and above, Hebrew score 7 and above.

Two years of technician-diploma studies, then tironut 02 or 03 at the navy's Bahad in Haifa, followed by 2 to 5 months of further training.

Aboard one of the vessels (for combat roles) or at the Naval Arm's various bases (for the shore technical unit).

An engineering diploma plus in-demand experience for the defense industry.
