What the role is like
What you would be doing
the full text, nothing cutYou shoot photos and video right in the combat zone and help tell the world what's happening — your material can end up in news outlets worldwide. At the same time you're a full combat soldier: you go through combat training and take part in operations alongside everyone else.
What it takes to get in
Passing selection: submitting a portfolio, a personal interview and a psychologist's interview.
Training
Tironut, about 3 months, at Sayarim camp; advanced training, about 3 months, at Gidonim camp; then a spokesperson-professions course at the same camp. Combat training totals 8 months; total service is 2 years and 8 months.

In the documentation unit of the IDF Spokesperson's Unit, across every sector of the country.
