What you would be doing

You're responsible, at levels A through C, for a wide range of communication systems, fixing faults in the field in routine and emergency so communication between field sites and the core stays safe, reliable and efficient — escalating anything bigger to level D. Everything you study and do relates to transmission and networking, working with the hi-tech company ECI-Ribbon Communications as the battalion's partner on new, advanced projects.

What it takes to get in

Profile 64 and above, for graduates of the Shoharot track / electronics technician track and its accompanying projects run by the C4I Corps, and for graduates of electronics majors in grades 13/14. Requires passing a security investigation. For women — Yom Ha-MEA scores: information processing 2 and above, technical operation 3 and above.

Training

Basic training 02, then a 12-week course at the communications professions school in Tzrifin.

Where you serve

As a department technician in one of the communications companies of Battalion 383 or Battalion 858 (Jerusalem, Tzfat, Beer Sheva, Kirya), or as a communications systems technician in the technical section (Tzrifin, Gidonim).

What it is worth afterwards

You work with the hi-tech company ECI-Ribbon Communications — good experience for a career in communications and IT.
