Telecom Technician

Pick your specialty. In cellular, you manage, operate and maintain the military cell network — from area coverage to servers — including apps and IoT devices for the army, security forces and government, working directly with hi-tech companies like Motorola. In data and encryption, you engineer IP networks from planning to deployment for the IDF and security forces, handle IT infrastructure, information-security and encryption solutions, and advanced automation (DevOps), working with companies like Cisco, Juniper, Checkpoint, Elbit, Fortinet, CA and NetApp. In voice systems, you run the IDF's telephony and unified-communications systems from the core to the end user, engineer solutions for service and command centers, and support operational users across the army and security bodies.

Profile 45 and above, for graduates of the Shoharot track / electronics technician track and its accompanying projects run by the C4I Corps, and for graduates of electronics majors in grades 13/14. Requires passing a security investigation. Yom Ha-MEA scores: information processing 2 and above, technical operation 3 and above.

Basic training 02, then a 12-week course at the communications professions school in Tzrifin.

Satz technicians serve in Tzrifin; Notz technicians in Tzrifin and the Kirya; switching technicians in Tzrifin.

You work with major networking companies (Cisco, Juniper, Checkpoint, and others) — a direct path into IT after service.
