What you would be doing
If you studied culinary arts in high school and already hold a technological or chef certificate, the army lets you keep working in your trade during service. You cook quality meals in advanced kitchens at select combat units, holding to strict hygiene and nutrition standards while gaining real professional experience under real pressure.
What it takes to get in
Profile 64 and above (profile 45 only with a medical exception). Open to men and women; requires a selection process.
Training
Basic training 02, then about a 3-day course at Bahad 6.
Where you serve
Combat units and forward outposts, cooking directly for fighters.
What it is worth afterwards
Real professional experience and a certificate that count toward a civilian cooking career.
