What you study
A bachelor's degree in Education at Ben-Gurion University is a B.A. degree that takes 3 years to complete. At its heart are the questions that preoccupy the world of education: How do people learn and develop, and how do society, the community, and the education system affect them—and vice versa? The program combines knowledge from learning sciences, educational psychology, the sociology of education, and philosophy, and lets you focus on areas that interest you, including counseling and therapy, society and politics, or learning and teaching.
The curriculum provides knowledge and understanding of the education system, familiarity with a range of formal and informal educational settings, an understanding of the role of education in a multicultural society, exposure to educational models, familiarity with cognitive, emotional-social, and behavioral development processes, and exposure to current, specialized information technologies, among other things. During their studies, students can choose specializations such as development and learning processes, education and technology in a changing society, psychology in the education system, educational administration and policy, teaching and curricula, and more, depending on the institution.
