Admission requirements

You can be admitted through one of these tracks:

By bagrut, no psychometric exam

Quality bagrut (without a psychometric exam)(our wording)

  • Bagrut certificate average of 92 or higher, advanced-level subject

Regular track

Psychometric exam + bagrut certificate(our wording)

Through a preparatory program

Pre-academic mechina

  • Graduates of pre-academic mechina programs in all tracks recognized by the Council for Higher Education, who received a mechina completion certificate: mechina grades (for a mechina in a one-year track) will replace bagrut grades, and they will be considered to have met the admission requirements regarding the requirement for a full bagrut certificate and without a psychometric exam, subject to the following conditions: a weighted average of mechina grades of at least 92

Through a preparatory program

Bagrut mechina

  • Studies in a recognized bagrut mechina allow applicants to be admitted based on their mechina grades under the “admission based on a quality bagrut certificate” route described above.
  • Bagrut certificate average of 92 or higher, advanced-level subject

Special track

Bagrut average below 92: the application will be reviewed based on bagrut results, an interview, recommendations, and the Mesila test(our wording)

  • Suitable applicants with a bagrut score below 92 may contact us, and their application will be considered based on their bagrut results, an interview, recommendations, and a Mesila test score of at least 5.5.

Special track

Combined score of 525–539 + Mesila test(our wording)

  • The College will consider up to 10% of applicants for admission with a combined score of 525–539, provided they achieve a score of at least 5.5 on the Mesila test.
For adults and those who have studied before2

Mechina for ages 30+(our wording)

  • Weighted average of 92 or higher, provided they are eligible for a bagrut certificate
  • If they are not eligible for a bagrut certificate, applicants will be required to present a psychometric score of at least 540

Completion of a bachelor's degree in teaching

  • An average of at least 80, at the senior teacher level.
  • Bagrut certificate / Sold tests (cross-disciplinary) or confirmation of completion of a mechina at a recognized academic institution.
  • Applicants aged 30+ without a bagrut certificate will be required to attend a mechina during their studies to complete the degree.

These are minimum requirements: meeting them does not by itself guarantee admission.

The requirements are in the institution's words. Names and labels marked "our wording" are our own, written from the same page.

For every track

  • Recommendation of the interview committee
  • Applicants who studied in a secondary school that was not part of the state religious education system will be required to attend a series of sessions to complete their knowledge in religious studies.
