Admission requirements

You can be admitted through one of these tracks:

Regular track

Admission as a regular student

  • At least 4 units in mathematics with a grade of 80 or higher.
  • A psychometric score of 550 or higher, or a score of 550 on the TIL test* designed for the department, administered at the college.
  • A full bagrut certificate with a weighted bagrut average of at least 90

Special track

Review of exceptional cases

  • In accordance with Council for Higher Education guidelines, the department may admit up to 10% of applicants who do not meet the admission requirements as exceptional cases, plus an additional 8% of exceptional cases on the grounds of reserve duty and service as combat soldiers during regular service, as well as parents of a child under 13 whose spouse served at least 42 days during the year preceding registration.
  • In addition, in exceptional and rare cases, in accordance with Council for Higher Education guidelines and at the department’s discretion, an exemption may be granted and admission without a bagrut certificate may be allowed for applicants who have demonstrated that their ability to study was severely affected due to significant and lengthy service in the war (more than 90 days) and/or a significant injury sustained during military service in the war and/or other affected groups, such as those who were orphaned of their parents as a result of the events of 7.10, returned hostages, and similar cases.
For adults and those who have studied before3

Active students in the Industrial Management and Logistics departments

  • Admission is conditional on passing a personal interview to assess the applicant’s suitability for the department.
  • Applicants who do not meet the admission requirements above (bagrut average, number of units, and bagrut grade in mathematics) may apply to the department at the end of their first academic year, based on their cumulative grade average, provided it is 85 or higher and they have earned at least 40 academic credits.

Practical engineers with diplomas and an average grade of at least 80

  • They will be exempt from presenting a bagrut certificate, but will be required to present a psychometric score of 550 or higher. They will also be required to take a mathematics exam to assess their suitability for the department.

Graduates with a bachelor's degree from a recognized institution

  • Applicants with a recognized academic degree who wish to be admitted to the program will be exempt from presenting a bagrut certificate and taking the psychometric exam, but will be required to pass a mathematics test to assess their suitability for the department.

These are minimum requirements: meeting them does not by itself guarantee admission.

For every track

  • Applicants who studied at a high school where the language of instruction is not Hebrew must take a Hebrew proficiency exam (Yael exam).
  • All applicants will be required to attend an admissions interview to assess their suitability for the department.

What you study

Industrial engineering and management is a broad, dynamic degree that combines several fields of knowledge and has grown alongside technological developments in industry. These developments have created a need to solve system-wide problems from an engineering perspective, and for engineers who can take responsibility for production, increasing output, streamlining systems, improving organizational processes, developing research methods, managing teams and departments, and more. Industrial engineering and management studies combine theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as engineering and technological knowledge alongside theories in the social sciences and management. Courses in the degree include: - core courses in mathematics and physics; courses in engineering theory (electrical and electronics engineering, materials, and manufacturing processes); courses in economics and finance (such as engineering economics, marketing, finance, and accounting); courses in organizational and management theory; and courses in programming and information systems.
