Materials Engineering

  • Study track: Materials Engineering.Psychometric exam: 650Quantitative reasoning: 130Mathematics (bagrut, 5 units): 80Physics 5 units: 80*
  • Industrial Engineering and Information Systems, Data and Artificial Intelligence Engineering, and Materials Engineering: applicants without a Physics grade can take a course during the first academic year.

For reservists

Reservists/career soldiers/combat soldiers admission track without a psychometric exam(our wording)

  • Minimum bagrut average of 113; required: Mathematics at 5 units with a grade of 90, Physics at 5 units with a grade of 85 in programs that require Physics in addition to Mathematics as part of the admission requirements
  • Reserve-duty track for eligible applicants only (not for combined programs): 60 or more reserve-duty days since 1.10.25, or 300 or more days since 7.10.23; Iron Swords wounded recognized by the Ministry of Defense; career soldiers in forward units; and combat soldiers who completed their regular service from 1.12.25

What you study

Materials engineering deals with the relationship between the structure and composition of a material and its properties, combining knowledge from engineering and science. This is a broad field that covers both the planning and production stages of a product and the study of the different materials it is made of from chemical, physical, and biological perspectives. Courses in the degree include basic courses in mathematics and science, as well as courses such as material structure, thermodynamics and kinetics, mechanical, electrical, optical, and electrochemical properties, metallic, ceramic, polymeric, and electronic materials, and a practical final project.
