What you would be doing
You're part of the wall protecting IDF bases and installations — strict guarding and uncompromising security at base gates, watchtowers and other strategic points. Your duties include carefully checking everyone entering and leaving the base, routine patrols around the perimeter, preventing infiltrations and unusual incidents, carrying a personal weapon and protective vest, and using advanced technology to secure the facility. It calls for a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to stay calm under any circumstances.
What it takes to get in
Yom Ha-MEA scores (women only): commitment and perseverance 3 and above, attention 3 and above.
Training
Basic training 02 and one month of training.
Where you serve
IDF units around the country. Most postings run on a week-on, week-off basis. For women in this trade, service length is a year and a half; for men, two years, depending on the army's needs.
