Pilot

You fly fighter jets, transport planes or helicopters — striking and defending from the air, gathering intelligence, and working with ground forces. Selection is one of the toughest and most exact in the IDF: online tests, flight simulators, a psychological interview and a physical gibush. Training runs three years at the Flight School on Hatzerim base — a foundations year, a flying year and an academic year. After the course you sign on for 7 years of career service.

Dapar 60 and above, a completed personal interview at Tzav Rishon, profile 97 with no disqualifying medical conditions, under age 23 (24 for holders of a bachelor's degree when the course opens); serving soldiers and career personnel who meet these thresholds may also apply, or continue a process interrupted by their enlistment.

Three years at the Flight School on Hatzerim base, across five stages: four six-month training stages plus one year of academic study.
