What you would be doing
You command IDF soldiers serving out their sentences at detention facilities around the country — from intake to release. For them, you're a central figure who's involved in every part of their time inside: education, discipline, individual care, personal support, and pushing their motivation to return to regular service or leave as better citizens. You also run the daily routine of the facility itself. There's room to grow too — into sergeant roles, prison intelligence, training-course command, or the officer track.
What it takes to get in
Profile 45 and above, Dapar 50 and above. Yom Ha-MEA (women only): Instruction 2+, Teamwork 3+, Interpersonal skills 3+, Command 3+, Structure and discipline 3+, Attention 3+.
Training
Tironut of about 6 weeks at Bahad 13, then a prisoner-commanders' course of about 5 weeks.
Where you serve
The Neve Tzedek military prison (Beit Lid camp) or one of the country's detention facilities.
