Applicants to the English department are required to have 5 units with a grade of 70 or higher, or 4 units in English with a grade of 90 or higher, and, in addition, a score of 100 or higher on the Amirnet exam or a score of 100 or higher on the English section of the psychometric exam
Entrance exam for the Department of English – the exam includes reading comprehension, essay writing, and a vocabulary-level test.
For applicants who studied at a school where the language of instruction was not Hebrew:A grade of 80 or higher in Hebrew at 5 units; a score of 130 or higher on the Yael exam; a grade of 80 or higher in Arabic at 3 units; or a grade of 70 or higher in Arabic at 4 units

What you study

Hebrew language teaching certificate studies provide comprehensive academic knowledge of the language throughout its periods and styles, and introduce students to issues, research methods, and ways of understanding the structure of the language. The curriculum combines a comparative approach with the study of related Semitic languages to examine the development of Hebrew over the years and introduce students to new linguistic research methods. During their studies, students gain in-depth knowledge of linguistics, as well as tools for understanding and analyzing the rules that govern Hebrew grammar.
