Bachelor's degree graduates – academic admission requirements (four-year track)(our wording)

  • A weighted average of at least 80 in a bachelor's degree from a higher education institution in Israel or abroad that is recognized and awards a degree equivalent to those awarded at Bar-Ilan University. Applicants with a double-major degree must have an average of 80 or higher in each of the departments they studied. No average will be calculated between the departments. A low average below 80 in a bachelor's degree cannot be offset by a high average in a master's degree. The determining grade is the one shown on the institution's official transcript. The average grade may not be rounded.
  • The grade required for exemption in all courses supplementing the core courses is 75 or higher.
  • Completion, with the grades listed below, of the core courses taken as part of a bachelor's degree at a recognized academic institution in one of the following fields: B.Sc. in life sciences or natural sciences; medicine; exact sciences (mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science, geophysics); B.Eng. in engineering. Courses taken as part of a degree other than a B.Sc. (for example, a B.A. or B.Ed.) will not be recognized for exemption from the core courses. Graduates of health professions (nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, emergency medicine, practical engineering, or similar professions) are required to complete the core courses, even if they hold a B.Sc. Core subjects Core subject | Scope (credit points) Biochemistry | 4 Cell biology | 4 Molecular biology | 4 Genetics | 3* Microbiology | 4 Physiology | 4 Statistics | 3* In-class hours only, excluding tutorials.
  • Courses taken as part of a master's or doctoral degree are not recognized for exemption from core courses, including statistics courses. An average grade in a department after completing a degree is not accepted. Starting in the 2021/22 academic year, all credit points in a given core subject must be earned at the same institution. Starting with admission for the 2022/23 academic year, core courses will be valid for a maximum of 10 years. Core courses taken 10 or more years before the academic year for which the applicant registered will not be accepted.

These are minimum requirements: meeting them does not by itself guarantee admission.

The requirements are in the institution's words. Names and labels marked "our wording" are our own, written from the same page.

For every track

  • Applicants who studied medicine or dentistry and whose studies were discontinued for disciplinary reasons may not apply to the 4-year program.
