Admission based on previous academic studies at Ariel University or another institution

  • Applicants must declare any previous academic studies, which will be taken into account when their application is reviewed.
  • Admission through this track requires approval by the departmental admissions committee and is not automatic – the applicant must provide a complete, official transcript showing the average for previous academic studies and bearing the institution’s stamp, including initial bagrut and psychometric exam details.

Transfer track from The Open University of Israel

  • Previous academic studies at The Open University of Israel in computer science and mathematics, and earning at least 30 credit points (a full academic year in the same field) with an average of at least 80 and a minimum grade of 70 in every course, will be referred for approval by the departmental admissions committee. Eligibility for a bagrut certificate is not required.

Admission based on bachelor's degree average

  • Graduates with a bachelor's degree and an average of 85 or higher in natural sciences or relevant engineering fields. Admission through this track requires approval by the departmental admissions committee and is not automatic.

Admission based on a practical engineer diploma

  • Practical engineer diploma holder – external exam average of 90 or higher.
  • Meeting the minimum requirements.

Admission based on an admissions committee

  • Previous academic studies at another institution, age 30+ (with borderline admission data).

These are minimum requirements: meeting them does not by itself guarantee admission.

The requirements are in the institution's words. Names and labels marked "our wording" are our own, written from the same page.

What you study

Computer science combines theoretical knowledge with practical, applied knowledge of using computer systems, as well as designing and building them. During the program, students must choose 1 or more specializations. Institutions offer various specializations, such as software development, internet technologies, signal processing and machine learning, artificial intelligence and machine learning, big data, communications and the internet, cybersecurity, hardware design, computer systems, signal and image processing, computer communications, software systems, and more. The curriculum includes foundational subjects in science—mathematics, physics, and computer science; in engineering—linear systems, digital systems, and electrical engineering; as well as theoretical and practical courses related to the areas of specialization. The program also includes a final project in the last year of study.
