Admission requirements

You can be admitted through one of these tracks:

Regular track

Option 1 – with a psychometric exam

  • Full bagrut with a bagrut average of 80 or higher
  • Applicants with 4–5 units in mathematics, a full bagrut with a bagrut average of 80 or higher, and a psychometric score of 580 or higher.

By bagrut, no psychometric exam

Option 2 – without a psychometric exam

  • Applicants with 4–5 units in mathematics and a full bagrut with a bagrut average of 90 or higher, without a psychometric exam.

Special track

Review of exceptional cases

  • Applicants who do not meet the admission requirements: The review of exceptional cases will consider the admission of exceptional applicants.
For adults and those who have studied before1

Option 3 – applicants with an academic background

  • 3.1) Practical engineer with a diploma average of 80 or higher earned in the external exams, who completed a final project and holds a full bagrut certificate. 3.2) Those who completed a full academic year of studies toward a relevant science degree with an annual average of 75 or higher, and also have a bagrut average of 70 or higher.

These are minimum requirements: meeting them does not by itself guarantee admission.

For every track

  • Applicants who do not pass the level placement test must take Shenkar’s “Level 0” course (mathematics and/or physics) and earn a grade of at least 65.
  • Hebrew proficiency: Applicants to bachelor's degree studies must demonstrate proficiency in Hebrew.
  • Minimum requirement for all applicants: 4/5 units.

What you study

Computer science combines theoretical knowledge with practical, applied knowledge of using computer systems, as well as designing and building them. During the program, students must choose 1 or more specializations. Institutions offer various specializations, such as software development, internet technologies, signal processing and machine learning, artificial intelligence and machine learning, big data, communications and the internet, cybersecurity, hardware design, computer systems, signal and image processing, computer communications, software systems, and more. The curriculum includes foundational subjects in science—mathematics, physics, and computer science; in engineering—linear systems, digital systems, and electrical engineering; as well as theoretical and practical courses related to the areas of specialization. The program also includes a final project in the last year of study.
