Bachelor's degree

  • Without a psychometric examA bachelor's degree from an academic institution recognized by the Council for Higher Education, with an average of 85 or higher, and a grade of 80 or higher in bagrut physics at 5 units; or a physics placement test, or Classical Physics 1 (0321-1118) at Tel Aviv University, or a mechanics or electricity and magnetism course at The Open University of Israel

Without a psychometric exam

  • Without a psychometric examA grade of 80 or higher in each course and an average of 85 or higher in the following courses: Calculus 1A (course no. 0366-1101 or 0366-1100) / Calculus 1B (0509-1746 or 0509-1646 or 0509-1546 or 0509-1446) / Linear Algebra (0509-1724 or 0366-1111 or 0509-1624 or 0509-1524 or 0509-1424) at Tel Aviv University, or Calculus 1 or Calculus 2 or Linear Algebra 1 at The Open University of Israel; and Classical Physics 1 (0321-1118) at Tel Aviv University, or mechanics or electricity and magnetism at The Open University of Israel

Transfer track from The Open University of Israel

  • Admission based on a transfer track from The Open University of Israel; see details under the “Advanced Year” tab.

These are minimum requirements: meeting them does not by itself guarantee admission.

What you study

We designed the bachelor's program in Electrical Engineering and Physics specifically to meet the needs of the high-tech job market. We will prepare you for the most senior positions in the industry's most sought-after fields, such as the design and development of chips, lasers and detectors, and the design and development of communications, imaging, control and computer systems—whether at your own startup or at one of the technology giants.

Electrical Engineering deals with electricity as a means of transmitting energy, as opposed to Electronics Engineering, which deals with using electricity to transmit information. In most cases, students must choose one or more specializations during their studies, such as electro-optics, communications, nanoelectronics, bioengineering, signal processing, computers, control, electronic devices, energy and power systems, bioelectronics, and more. Courses in the degree include theoretical courses in core subjects such as mathematics, physics, programming, and electronics, as well as theoretical and practical laboratory courses, according to the areas of specialization. The studies also include a final project in the last year.
