- Average: at least 90
Regular track
Combined score
- Combined score: 551
Through a preparatory program
Dedicated mechina average
- Dedicated mechina average: 80, and a grade of at least 70 in each subject
- You must show eligibility for a bagrut certificate.
Regular track
If the psychometric score is lower than required
- If the psychometric score is lower than required, but the score in the quantitative reasoning section of the psychometric exam is at least 120, the decision on admission will be referred to the department head for review.
Special track
Exceptional admission
- The department reserves the right to consider applicants who do not meet the admission requirements through exceptional admission, subject to a limit of up to 10% of the admission quota, in accordance with Council for Higher Education guidelines. Each case will be reviewed individually by the departmental admissions committee.
For adults and those who have studied before3
Practical engineer
- Average: 83 or higher. Admission based on the average of external exam grades, excluding lab and project
Applicants with an external exam average of 78–82.9 and eligibility for a diploma
- Applicants with an external exam average of 78–82.9 and eligibility for a diploma
- Conditional admission; the average required to advance to the next year is 65.
- Supplementary mechinas in mathematics and physics.
Practical engineer in the final year of studies
- Practical engineer in the final year of studies with 3 MAHAT grades of at least 85
- Conditional admission: a supplementary mechina in mathematics and physics.
- Presentation of diploma + external grades average of 83 by the end of the first year.
These are minimum requirements: meeting them does not by itself guarantee admission.
For every track
- Mathematics4 units with a grade of at least 80. A grade below the required level requires a mathematics completion mechina before starting studies.
- A Yael exam score of at least 110 is required for applicants who completed high school where the language of instruction was not Hebrew, and/or who took the psychometric exam in a language other than Hebrew.
- Science units5 units in Physics/Computer Science/Chemistry, which are science subjects, with a grade of at least 80
- Eligibility for a full bagrut certificate, including English at 4 units with a passing grade, is a mandatory requirement. A grade below the required level requires an English completion mechina.

What you study
Physics deals with the fundamental laws of nature as they are expressed in observable systems, from the microscopic composition of matter to the structure of the entire universe. Among other things, physics studies the motion of objects, the behavior of matter, energy, and the effects of the laws of nature on the continuum of space and time. Courses in the degree include foundational subjects in physics and mathematics—mechanics, electricity and magnetism, waves, quantum mechanics and statistical mechanics—as well as advanced courses such as solid-state physics, elementary particle physics, astrophysics, optics, biophysics and more. The studies also include laboratory experience, including learning modern measurement methods and investigating physical phenomena.
